What You’ll Be Doing
The role will be working across the Property Management Division and responsible for the assessment of disrepair in council properties, conducting investigations into housing complaints, and providing advice and recommendations related to disrepair issues.
Working closely with senior staff, in this role you will be expected to work to high standards of technical and contract management practice, as well as work closely with and support other colleagues in the team to ensure consistency in practice and outcomes.
All About you
We are looking for someone with significant technical knowledge and surveying/quality inspection experience. Your experience will also include conducting thorough inspections of properties, identifying issues of disrepair and assessing the severity and urgency of required repairs.
You will be investigating disrepair complaints received from tenants, liaising with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure a timely and effective resolution. You will be expected to maintain thorough records of all assessments, investigations, and recommendations relating to disrepair. In addition, you will be collaborating with other professionals, including lawyers and housing officials, on legal matters relating to disrepair, as well as representing the council in court.
The successful post holder will need to have an appropriate surveying or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience.
We are looking for someone with appropriate surveying (RICs) or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience. You will be able to communicate effectively with residents, senior representatives from contractors and consultants and our elected members. You will be experienced in preparing detailed and comprehensive reports on disrepair issues and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
